The School of Shepherds of Catalonia together with the CFPPA Ariège-Comminges have been working two years in the creation of a new training module called “EcoPastos” in the framework of an Erasmus+ Project of small-scale cooperation. The project is called “Ecopastos: Towards an extensive livestock breeding more sustainable” and its main objective is to train shepherds for a mountain management focused on safeguarding fodder resources, maintaining and improving the biodiversity of our mountains and making them more resilient to climate change.
All necessary pedagogical materials to run the training module can be downloaded in the EcoPastos website in English, French, Catalan and Spanish.
The module consists of a total of 12 training units. The detailed explanation of each of them and the explanation of the material necessary to carry out each training unit, can be found in the “Pedagogical Guide for the training module EcoPastos”. This guide also presents the rest of the pedagogical materials used in the training module. The “Learner’s booklet” is the obligatory booklet that Will guide students work in class and in the field. The third block found in the training module website consists of a link with the other complementary teaching materials.
This project will enable 125-145 students to be trained with the EcoPastos training module in the next 5 years.
