Urgenci is the international network of community supported agriculture (CSA) farms and groups. Urgenci fosters peer-based solidarity among CSA initiatives to contribute to the food sovereignty movement worldwide. The objectives of Urgenci are to: 1. promote the local solidarity -based partnership concept globally; 2. facilitate exchanges between existing partnerships, share best practices and challenges; 3. strengthen the mobilisation of local networks and develop tools to reinforce their viability; 4. coordinate actions at international level and facilitate global coherence of the project; develop dialogue with public institutions.
Urgenci's members believe that the more we can learn fro and support one another, the faster we will move towards local food sovereignty, sustainable agriculture and peaceful communities.
Access to land is a major issue for many CSA farmers. New farmers make up a significant part of the CSA movement. They are often struggling to find a plot to start farming. CSA is often a way to raise large collective support for land acquisition.
Urgenci is working with the Access to Land Network to explore and communicate the synergies between the two movements.
