The Rural Movement of Christian Youth (MRJC) is a youth movement, coordinated by and for Young people (13 to 30 years) in rural areas. It brings together over 10,000 members, invested in local projects benefiting our villages and rural communities. Based on people’s education approach, the MRJC encourages civic participation and contributes to social transformation. It enables young people to make their place in lively rural areas. It focuses on three main areas : agriculture, education and employment.
Access to land is a major obstacle to enter farming, particularly for newcomers. After two years of reflexion on the topic, we started in 2015 the ""special investigation squads on farmland"" (Brigades d’Enquête Spéciale sur les Terres, BEST in French). The importance of this issue deserves special intervention squads! Our aim is to create local groups which analyse the functioning of land management on a micro territory, so as to identify and implement ways to improve access to land for future farmers. We also organise large public festivities, bringing together farmers, citizens and local elected representatives to discuss and work together on improving access to land.
