InterAFOCG is a French national network of farmers organisations (AFOCG) providing lifelong learning in the fields of economics (accounting, management, strategy…) and human development, for farmers and rural inhabitants.
Educational methods focus on:
> hands-on experience (coming from the trainees),
> time: the approach promotes long-term trainings in order to better learn over time from trainee’s own experience), and
> collective trainings, so that the trainees learn from each other.
AFOCG aims at helping any farmer to fulfill their own farm project according to their values, life goals and conditions on the farm. The main activity of AFOCG is to organise collective training on any subject that can help farmers to manage their project, at every stage of it (farm start, development, succession, transfer...).
The national organisation InterAFOCG conducts a range of activities for its local branches : network facilitation, research (entry into farming and succession, small farms management, work organisation and time management, women in agriculture, collective farming...), training of the trainers, promotion and public representation.
AGOCG touches upon acess to land, as part of the training and support provided to future farmers, new entrants, established farmers or retiring farmers. It helps them understand the various economic and human logics behind land and buildings, as part of their farm and life project. It also helps them analyse the various (economic and other) values allocated to land and building at different stage of a farmer’s life and project. Also, AFOCG works sometimes with partners (eg. Terre de Liens...) to open reflections and to give visibility to different ways to access to land in the collective trainings about farm settlement and succession.
