Hofkollektiv Zwetschken collective farm

The collective farm ‘Hofkollektiv Zwetschken’ is located in Schweiggers, Lower Austria, and is an intentional community of 7 or more people. They financed their farm (including land and buildings) through a combination of direct loans and a ‘wealth pool’ in order to remove it from the market logic and to embed it in structures that retain community interests.

They implement principles of a solidarity economy both within their group and in the marketing of their products, host a food co-op and are engaged in community building and educational events.
