Access To Land

Germany
Aktion Kulturland

This Foundation, started in 1988, has acquired four farms in northern Germany and rewarded nearly €3m of support to another 30 eco-farms.

The foundation’s capital stock is mainly invested in its farming property that is leased to farming communities. The additional money for project support was acquired by calls for donations.

Having established good relationships with the environmental ministry of the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the foundation since 1998 has engaged in buying land in environmentally sensitive areas with 90% subsidy of EU and national government money.
